2013 NASCAR at Charlotte Motor Speedway weather forecast: Chance of showers today

Areas of showers are possible for today’s NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup practices and qualifying. The good news this appears the only day where weather could be a problem.

While most of the weather forecast for this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway is dry, sunny and nice there is one day where rain could be a problem and that day is today. Scattered areas of showers and even a few thunderstorms are possible off and on through out the day today. This activity is all out ahead of an approaching cold front that will move through later today and tonight.

Will these showers affect practice and qualifying later today and tonight? It is possible but there should be occasional breaks with periods of dry weather. Just depends on how quickly they can get the track dry, if and when they need to.

Once the cold front moves through tonight, the weather in Charlotte is nice and very comfortable for the rest of the weekend. Lots of sunshine Friday through Sunday and afternoon high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
