NBA Playoffs schedule 2013: Miami’s offense comes alive in Game 3 blowout

The Miami Heat just took a sledgehammer to the Pacers on their homecourt. It was never a contest -- except for when the Heat were seemingly competing for some acting awards.

Who flopped better? LeBron or D-Wade? Of course, it didn’t matter because the Heat walked away with a 114-96 victory in Game 3.

This series was supposed to be a snoozer: the juggernaut Miami Heat against a defensive-minded Indiana Pacers squad, devoid of stars or any way of stopping the Heat.

We were obviously wrong, as the series has given us two thrillers, with the world’s best player, LeBron James, locked in a battle of one-upmanship with Paul George, an out-of-nowhere star who isn’t LeBron’s equal, but is giving him a run for his money.

Will the Heat figure things out again and coast to a win, or will Indiana continue to pressure a squad pre-anointed by most as the NBA’s Champions?

Here’s the info on Sunday night’s Game 3:

The Heat’s strategy to trap Indiana’s ball-handlers backfired. Since Indiana is using Hibbert to screen, they are pulling Miami’s only big man out of the post. The Heat’s lack of size is being exposed as they run small lineups.

Hibbert doesn’t kick the ball out to the perimeter, but takes advantage of rolling to the rim against a player who is a foot shorter than him. The Heat can’t recover to help in time, Chalmers ends up on the floor and the Pacers get an easy basket.

George has been fantastic in the two games, scoring 49 points and handing out 11 assists while shooting 50 percent from the floor. He emerged as an All-Star this season, but this series has truly been his introduction to the world.

It’s the circle of NBA life. Get over it.
