The road to Omaha begins with NCAA regionals, and the 64-team draw for the 2013 NCAA baseball tournament field was revealed Monday.

North Carolina is your top seed for the 2013 NCAA Baseball Tournament, as the ACC’s tournament and regular season champions lead a 64-team field released Monday afternoon.

One team will advance from each regional in a double-elimination style bracket. The winners of each regional will play in a best-of-three series to move on to the College World Series, where the eight remaining squads will be divided into two more double-elimination brackets before a best-of-three series between the two winners.
The SEC led all conferences with nine of their 14 teams making the tournament, with the ACC following a close second with eight teams. However, the ACC has the upper hand in teams deemed good enough to host regionals -- five ACC squads play host, while only four teams from the SEC do. From then on, it’s the Pac-12 and Sun Belt with four teams in the field, then the Big 12, Big West, and CAA with three, and a host of conferences with two teams and one team represented.
The top seed is North Carolina, who finished the season 52-8 and won the ACC regular season and tournament crowns. They’re followed by Vanderbilt, who lost to LSU in the SEC Tournament final but claimed a higher seed, as the Tigers are seeded No. 4 overall. The other five national seeds are Oregon State, Cal State Fullerton, Virginia, Florida State, and Oregon.
Notable snubs include last year’s champion Arizona, Michigan State, and Auburn.
