Kentucky Oaks results 2013: Princess of Sylmar shocks at 38/1
Princess of Sylmar wins the 2013 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs.

Gulfstream Park Oaks winner Dreaming of Julia took most of the action at the betting windows and went to post as the 3/2 favorite. She started the race slowly and never seriously threatened the winner in the stretch.
The Kentucky Oaks, the traditional stakes race for three-year-old fillies the day before the Kentucky Derby, is the second longest consecutively run sporting event in the United Stakes. Originally run a week after the first Derby, the Oaks is now the cornerstone of the day before the Run for the Roses. This year’s Oaks was attended by a near record crowd of 113,820 at Churchill Downs.
Flash Gray scratched from the Oaks earlier in the week, leaving a field of ten fillies in the starting gate.
Princess of Sylmar is a three-year-old filly by Majestic Warrior out of a Cetienus mare (Storm Dixie), trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Mike Smith.
