Giro d’Italia 2013 Stage 2: TV schedule, map, route and more

Italy’s premier race continues on Sunday in the beautiful expanse of a timeless country.

The 2013 Giro d’Italia is underway, with the cyclists taking to the road on Saturday morning. On Sunday, the second of 21 stages of this beautiful race will take place with a team time trial.

Currently, Britain’s Mark Cavandish is in the lead after winning the inaugural stage. However, he is not expected to win the race with his fellow countryman Bradley Wiggins in the field. Wiggins won the 2012 Tour de France.

Sunday’s stage will take place on a course that spans from Ischia to Forio, Italy, a distance of 17.4 km (11 miles).

At the beginning of the stage is an approximately three kilometer gradual climb before the route begins to ease up, with many downhill and flat stretches. Here is a look at the profile.

Stage 2 starts at 9:40 a.m. ET and will be shown on beIN Sport, which is available on Comcast, Dish Network, Verizon FiOS and DirecTV.
