NASCAR Dover 2013: Fans to get ‘All Access’

NASCAR teams are allowing a new kind of accessibility for TNT cameras.

Once the race at Dover Speedway in Dover, Delaware is over and the teams are packed up, the cameras will begin rolling.

This is because TNT has come up with a new and potentially very entertaining program called “All Access” which will debut with the beginning of the NASCAR Summer Series June 9 at the Poconos, according to yahoo.com.

The series will go for six weeks - the length of the Summer Series - and follow around six different teams for a week leading up to a race. The first driver to be filmed will be Denny Hamlin as he prepares for the Poconos. After him, Brad Keselowski, Juan Pablo Montoya and Kurt Busch will be part of the series, among others.

TNT executives are very excited about the program, per the article:

“We’re bringing fans an all-access pass to TNT’s NASCAR Summer Series coverage this year,” said Craig Barry, senior vice president and executive creative director, Turner Sports. “These deeper layers of access will provide fans with a look under the hood to some of the great personalities and teams in the sport and the level of teamwork and commitment it takes to be successful.”

In a sport where everything leading into the preparation of a race is considered top-secret, it’s borderline amazing that TNT cameras were granted this type of access behind the scenes.
