We’re GIF hard-liners around these parts. No doctored GIFs, no reverse-animation, no nothin’. Just pure, unfiltered chronicle. There is something of a loophole, though: if the first and final frames of a GIF look similar enough, it creates the illusion that a GIF never ends.

This wouldn’t be half as good if Sonny didn’t just sort of leave his ass draped over the seat like he’s a twentysomething’s hoodie. When I was in Vox’s New York offices last week, I had the pleasure of carrying around my laptop and showing this GIF to everyone, and everyone laughed as hard as I did. We used to tell jokes, y’all, and then GIFs came along.
