LeBron James scored 11 points in the second quarter, Dwyane Wade hit a jumper with .8 seconds left in the first half for his 14th point and the Miami Heat lead the San Antonio Spurs, 46-44, at halftime of Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals.

James’ unbelievable transition layup after taking contact and barely getting the ball up from under the rim is the standout play from the first half of Game 7:

James has a game-high 15 points. Wade scored 14 points and was active on the glass, grabbing six rebounds.

Tim Duncan has been doing a little bit of everything for San Antonio. He has a team-high 13 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Manu Ginobili has had a strong first half with seven points and no turnovers after turning it over eight times in Game 6. Free throws have been keeping the Spurs in the game, as they are 14-15 from the line while Miami has taken only three trips to the line so far — all makes.

The Spurs were out of sync through the first half of Game 7. Still, Ginobili, who stated he was “devastated” after Game 6, had a strong start, and the Spurs are only down two at the break.

Which LeBron James shows up?

James started the game quiet but made big plays in the second quarter. He did not immediately make an impact on the game but helped his team with five straight points in the second quarter. He also made two three-point field goals in the second quarter, making use of the space the Spurs’ defense allowed him.

Which role players step up?

Shane Battier stepped up for Miami and made all three of his three-point field goal attempts. Danny Green has struggled with Miami running him off the three-point line and has missed all six of his field goal attempts. Kawhi Leonard already has 10 rebounds to go with his five points.
