Top seeds North Carolina and Vanderbilt are among several teams still trying to lock up spots in the super regionals with wins on Monday. Thanks to a number of upsets (and one weather delay) on Sunday night, five regionals remain undecided on Day 4 of the tournament.
NCAA Baseball Tournament 2013 schedule: Top 2 seeds looking to secure super regional bids
North Carolina and Vanderbilt find themselves in unexpected elimination games on Monday.

Before we dive into the remaining schedule, let’s get caught up with the tournament as it stands Monday morning. UCLA and Cal State Fullerton both won their games late Sunday night, with each advancing to the second round after going 3-0 in regional play. Grant Watson pitched seven innings of one-hit baseball for UCLA as the Bruins rolled 6-0 over San Diego, while Cal State Fullerton used five runs in the first two innings to dispatch Arizona State 6-1.
They join a list of eleven teams who have already moved on to the second round.
Super regional teams:
Cal State Fullerton
Florida State
Indiana
Kansas State
LSU
Louisville
N.C. State
Oklahoma
Oregon State
UCLA
Virginia
The complete updated bracket can be found here.
Notably absent from that list are No. 1 seed North Carolina and No. 2 seed Vanderbilt, both of whom lost Sunday night and will have to play winner-takes all elimination games on Monday. North Carolina hasn’t been as impressive as anticipated thus far, holding just a +5 net scoring differential over opponents through its first three tournament games. They’ll look to get back on track against Florida Atlantic, who forced an extra game after beating the Tar Heels 3-2 on Sunday. Meanwhile, Vandy will have to reevaluate its offensive approach against a Georgia Tech team that shut them down 5-0 on Day 3.
Keep an eye on Central Arkansas, who could become the only No. 4 seed to make the supers with a win over Mississippi State. After their 5-2 win on Sunday night, they actually hold a 3-2 advantage on the season over the Bulldogs.
South Carolina and Liberty were suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning due to rain Sunday night, and will resume play Monday with the Gamecocks leading 4-2.
