NHL Draft 2013: Stars select Jason Dickinson with No. 29 overall pick

The Dallas Stars selected Jason Dickinson at No. 29.

The Dallas Stars selected Jason Dickinson with the No. 29 overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The pick was the team’s second first-round selection in the 2013 Draft, as the club picked Valery Nichuskin with the No. 10 overall pick.

Here is a profile on Dickinson via Hockey’s Futures:

Dickinson has the size and potential to translate his game into a true power forward role. However, he’s still a little lean and inconsistent in both to be assured of success.

A better playmaker than scorer, Dickinson is a high-risk, high-reward prospect. He’s shown flashes of elite talent and potential, but has not been able to do so consistently. Dickinson’s a challenging player to project because he could develop into a coveted power forward, or he could find himself as a career minor leaguer.
