2013 NASCAR at Pocono Raceway race weekend weather forecast

Moisture associated with what was tropical storm Andrea will move across the Mid Atlantic today and Saturday causing a few problems for NASCAR, but will it dry out in time for the Sprint Cup race Sunday.

Wet weather is likely today for Pocono Raceway as rain and moisture associated with tropical storm Andrea moves up the east coast and spreads across Pennsylvania today and into Saturday morning. Couple inches of rain are possible today and into early Saturday morning. While rain could cause problems Friday for practice and qualifying, Saturday’s forecast is looking drier.

I think NASCAR has a good chance of getting practice in on Saturday as most of the rain is expected to exit early Saturday morning. There is just a small chance of a scattered rain shower later in the day.

By Sunday, a weak area of high pressure moves in and dries things out over Pocono. Expecting a mix of sunshine and clouds and a little warmer with highs in the mid 70s.
