The New Jersey Devils and potential unrestricted free agent forward Dainius Zubrus have agreed to terms on a contract, according to the club.

Zubrus agreed to a 3-year, $9.3 million contract, that carries an annual average value of $3.1 million against the salary cap, according to Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record.

The 34-year-old forward will begin his 18th season in the NHL this fall in New Jersey. He’s spent his last six seasons with the Devils, after stints in Philadelphia, Montreal, Washington and Buffalo. He had long been rumored to be returning to New Jersey.

Zubrus has had a productive career, scoring 340 goals and 683 points in 1,087 career games. He’s played in two Stanley Cup Finals, including one in 2012 with the Devils. He played only 22 games this season due to injury, but has put up fairly consistent numbers for the Devils in a depth role ever since joining the team in 2007.
