The Nashville Predators aren’t staying quiet on the opening day of the UFA signing period.
NHL free agency: Viktor Stalberg agrees to 4-year deal with Nashville Predators
The Predators poach from the Stanley Cup Champions and grab forward Viktor Stalberg.

The club and forward Viktor Stalberg have agreed to a 4-year contract worth $12 million on Friday, according to Bob McKenzie of TSN. His contract will count at $3 million per season against the salary cap. Stalberg spent the past three seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, winning a Stanley Cup with the club in 2013.
Stalberg filled an excellent role for the Hawks during their Stanley Cup run, putting up 23 points in 47 games on a bottom six forward role. He was, however, scratched a few times during the playoff run for some players who maybe fit more of a grinding role, so a chance to possibly play as a top six forward in Nashville may appeal to him.
The 27-year-old Swede was the 161st overall pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He has 52 goals and 52 assists in 243 career NHL games.
