Unrestricted free agent forward Michael Ryder has agreed to terms on a contract with the New Jersey Devils, according to Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger on Friday.

Ryder agreed to a two-year, $7 million contract, that carries an annual average value of $3.5 million against the salary cap, per Darren Dreger of TSN.
The 33-year-old Ryder is coming off two of his more solid seasons, spent with the Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens. Ryder put up 35 goals with Dallas in 2011-12 and, in a shortened season, put up 16 with Dallas and Montreal in 2012-13. He is also a "proven winner," having won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2010-11. He scored eight goals and totaled 17 points in that playoff run.
Ryder, a Newfoundland native, was picked 216th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the Canadiens. He broke into the league in 2003-04, spending four seasons with Montreal, before moving on to Boston for three. He spent a year and a half in Dallas before being traded for what will now be just a 27-game reunion with the Canadiens.
