Unrestricted free agent goaltender Anton Khudobin has agreed to terms on a contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced on Friday afternoon. Khudobin agreed to a one-year, $800,000 contract, according to Aaron Ward of TSN.

Khudobin finished out the final-year of a two-year, $1.75 million contract with the Boston Bruins that carried an annual average value of $875,000 against the salary cap. Khudobin acted as Tuukka Rask's backup goaltender the last season and will seemingly act in the same role to Cam Ward in Carolina.

Originally selected with the No. 206 overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild, Khudobin has only played in 21 career games. Over that span, the 27-year-old goaltender has accumulated a .933 save percentage, 2.03 goals against average and two shutouts.
