Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Shaquille O’Neal sing command to start engines

Adam Sandler, Shaquille O’Neal and Kevin James had a unique way of starting Saturday’s NASCAR race at Daytona.

USA TODAY Sports

Depending on your perspective, Adam Sandler and Kevin James are either infamous or celebrated among NASCAR fans for their unique way of giving the command to start a race.

The duo — along with Shaquille O’Neal — lived up to their notoriety when they delivered the traditional “Drivers, start your engines” command prior to Saturday’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Pretending they were former members of a boy band, Sandler, O’Neal and James harmonized the most famous words in motorsports.

The video is posted below:

When it was announced a few weeks that Sandler, O’Neal and James -- promoting their upcoming film “Grown Ups 2” -- would give the command, it was expected they would give a rendition that was, shall we say, unique.

They didn’t disappoint.

It was when promoting the original “Grown Ups” three years ago at Michigan that Sandler and James gave a command that will forever be a part of NASCAR lore.
