NASCAR on TNT led the weekend ratings, despite competition from baseball and Wimbledon.

This is Weekend Ratings Breakdown, which takes a look at all the ratings from big sporting events over the past weekend. Numbers are from Sports Business Daily, while some of the numbers come from press releases via NBC and ESPN.

Saturday, July 6

8 a.m. ET - Tour de France: Stage 8 (NBC): 0.9
9 a.m. ET - Wimbledon: Women’s Final (ESPN): 1.1
3 p.m. ET - Wimbledon: Women’s Final Highlights (ABC): 0.9
3 p.m. ET - PGA Tour: Greenbrier Classic, Round Three (CBS): 1.2
3 p.m. ET - AMA Motocross (NBC): 0.4
4 p.m. ET - Red Bull Wake Open (NBC): 0.6
6:30 p.m. ET - MLB All-Star Game Selection Show (Fox): 0.9
7 p.m. ET - MLB: Regional action (LA Dodgers vs. San Francisco, Atlanta vs. Philadelphia, NY Mets vs. Milwaukee, CHI White Sox vs. Tampa Bay, Houston vs. Texas) (Fox): 2.1
7:30 p.m. ET - NASCAR: Sprint Cup Coke Zero 400 (TNT): 3.3

Analysis: The Wimbledon women’s final, which featured two fairly unknown-to-America players in Marion Bartoli and Sabine Lisicki, drew a 1.1 overnight. While that was down from last year’s final, it was only a 21 percent drop from the Serena Williams-starring Wimbledon final from last year, which drew a 1.4. The prestige of the event carried the way, apparently.

Elsewhere, the Sprint Cup was the highest-rated sports program of the weekend, and achieved a rare feat for NASCAR these days: it grew from the year-ago race. Last year’s Coke Zero 400 drew a 3.2.

After we spent the week discussing decreasing baseball ratings, MLB on Fox’s five-game regional package dropped big from last year’s three-game regional, which featured Yankees-Red Sox. It’s possible, however, that ratings were a little down in San Francisco -- usually a dependable baseball hotbed -- due to coverage of the crash of Flight 214, which forced baseball to another station in the Bay Area. The top local markets for MLB on Fox this Saturday were: Dallas (HOU/TEX), Atlanta (ATL/PHI), Tampa (CWS/TB), Milwaukee (NYM/MIL), Philadelphia (ATL/PHI), Sacramento (LAD/SF), Birmingham (ATL/PHI), Greenville (ATL/PHI), Los Angeles (LAD/SF) and Greensboro (ATL/PHI).

Sunday, July 7

9 a.m. ET - Wimbledon: Men’s Final (ESPN): 2.0
12 p.m. ET - IndyCar: Pocono (ABC): 1.1
2 p.m. ET - Volleyball World Championships (NBC): 0.6
3 p.m. ET - Wimbledon: Men’s Final Highlights (ABC): 1.0
3 p.m. ET - PGA Tour: Greenbrier Classic, Final Round (CBS): 1.2
3:30 p.m. ET - Octane Academy (NBC): 0.4
4:30 p.m. ET - Red Bull: Volcom Pro (NBC): 0.7

Analysis: Andy Murray’s triumphant Wimbledon victory over Novak Djokovic took a huge drop from his heartbreaking loss in last year’s Wimbledon final, in which he lost to Roger Federer. The 2.0 overnight was down 35 percent from last year’s Federer/Murray showdown.

Elsewhere, the PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic took a sharp drop from last year’s 2.1 for final-round action.
