Fox Sports 1’s first week: LeBron on ‘Fox Sports Live,’ Wale and Metta World Peace on Regis Philbin’s show

Bill Reiter will sit down with LeBron on Tuesday night.

Fox Sports 1 premires on Saturday, have you heard? The promotion has been relentless, the feature stories have been numerous, and we’ll finally get down to the actual broadcasting on Saturday. Fox dangled out some pieces of info on their shows debut weeks, and some of them are fairly interesting.

First of all, Fox is going typically all out for the premiere of FS1, especially their primetime UFC card. At 7:59 p.m. ET, Fox News, FX, Fox Deportes, Fox Soccer Plus, Fox Radio, BTN and FoxSports.com will all synchronize and broadcast a preview of the event. That’s a strategy Fox has used in the past for events like the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

As for opening week, Fox Sports Live landed probably the biggest star in sports for their Tuesday night show, as columnist Bill Reiter will sit down for an interview with LeBron James. Getting the biggest star of the NBA -- a league Fox Sports 1 does not yet have the broadcast rights to -- for a sit-down so quickly is quite a coup. Mike Tyson will join the crew in the studio on Monday night, while UFC President Dana White will be interviewed on Wednesday’s program.

Regis Philbin’s Crowd Goes W!ld will have a very eccentric guest list for week one of the talk show. Oscar De La Hoya will be in studio on Monday, while PGA golfer Rickie Fowler shows up Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be must-watch shows, as they feature in-studio guests like rapper Wale and Metta World Peace. Metta and Regis, together at last.

Finally, Fox Football Daily premieres on Monday as well, and their guest rundown is probably the most impressive of all, especially when trying to present themselves as a credible NFL show. New Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly will join the crew -- led by host Curt Menefee -- on Monday. The all powerful Jay Glazer sits down with Peyton Manning on Tuesday, and the show welcomes in New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton on Wednesday.

The network debuts their first-ever interview series on opening day. Fox Sports 1 on 1, which curiously premieres at 2:30 p.m. ET, features various Fox personalities interviewing people from the worlds of sports, entertainment and politics. The first show features Michael Strahan sitting down with Tom Brady. Future shows star Adrian Peterson, Roger Goodell and Charles Barkley.
