You know that home run Bill Mazeroski hit to win the 1960 World Series? Over Yogi Berra’s head? If you’ve got a few hundred grand laying around, you can have the jersey and pants Mazeroski was wearing. And the baseball spikes from his feet. Oh, and the Louisville Slugger he was using.

Come to think of it, we might be talking about more than just a few hundred thousand. Anyway, Mazeroski’s still alive but Hunt Auctions is disposing of his personal collection. Here’s the uniform:
I like rich guys with big basements -- well, some rich guys anyway -- but this really doesn’t belong in some rich guy’s basement. It belongs in Cooperstown or in Pittsburgh, where everyone can see it. C’mon, Pirates ... You’re having a pretty fantastic year. Wouldn’t bringing Maz’s accoutrements home this November be a wonderful capper for all your loyal fans?
