The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame will become a bit more crowded on Sunday. The induction of the latest entries into the Hall of Fame include a seven-time Final Four coach, a nine-time NBA All-Star and a five-time WNBA All-Star. The inductees for the 2013 class are Gary Payton, Rick Pitino, Jerry Tarkanian, Dawn Staley, Guy Lewis, Bernard King, Sylvia Hatchell, Roger Brown, Dr. E.B. Henderson, Oscar Schmidt, Russ Granik, and Richard Guerin.

The 2013 Hall of Fame class is headlined by Gary Payton, Rick Pitino and Bernard King.


Payton, King, Staley, Schmidt and Guerin are the five players in this year’s class, while Granik and Henderson will be inducted as contributors. The collection of coaches are Hatchell, Pitino, Tarkanian and Lewis. Granik, Guerin, Schmidt, Henderson and Brown were direct-elects of the Hall of Fame’s five committees. Those committees include the Early African American Pioneer Committee, the International Committee, the Veterans Committee, the Contributor Direct Election Committee and the American Basketball Association Committee.
The 2013 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. on NBA TV. The coverage will be live from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
