Wayne Rooney is set to captain England as they take on minnows San Marino in their Group H qualifying clash.
England vs. San Marino, 2014 UEFA World Cup qualifying: Preview and TV schedule
Wayne Rooney has been given the captain’s armband as England face what should be the easiest of encounters against San Marino.

England will already be adjusting to life after John Terry, who recently retired from international football, but will also be without the injured Frank Lampard and the suspended Steven Gerrard, which has left Rooney with the captain's armband.
England are also without Kieran Gibbs and his replacement Ryan Bertrand, and there will be interest over whether Ashley Cole starts at left-back, after his Twitter controversy against the FA. The Chelsea defender is set to win his 100th cap for England, but Leighton Baines is threatening his place in the England team. Elsewhere, England have also called up Jonjo Shelvey and Ryan Shawcross, who could be in line to receive their first caps.
Anything other than a comprehensive victory for England would be an embarrassment against a side ranked 207th in the world, and Roy Hodgson may take the opportunity to try out some new players before his team's next game, a tricky away encounter in Warsaw against Poland.
