England face what is probably their toughest test of the qualification campaign so far when they take on Poland in Warsaw on Tuesday night.

Hodgson’s men have had an indifferent start to the campaign so far, thumping minnows San Marino and Moldova 5-0 but only managing a 1-1 draw at Wembley against Ukraine.
Steven Gerrard returns from suspension for England, and is likely to start in the absence of Frank Lampard through injury. He will also take the captain's armband from his stand-in Wayne Rooney. Hodgson has spoken off his delight at the competition provided the younger players coming through, and Kyle Walker, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley, all of whom started against San Marino, could continue their spell in the team.
Poland have few injury problems, but the ones they do have are severe. Captain Jakub Blaszczykowski is injured for the game, and Wojciech Szczesny will also be unavailable. Grzegorz Krychowiak, who is in fine form, is likely to start, and along with Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, will still pose a big danger for the home side.
