Besart Berisha picked up a yellow card in the game’s first minute on Friday night at the nib Stadium in Perth. The Albanian’s booking proved a harbinger for a contentious game between the league’s top side and the Glory, who were seeking to climb into a more solid finals position. Berisha ended up tangling with Michael Thwaite again in the 31st minute and was sent off, leaving Brisbane to play an hour without its top striker. And yet, Perth could not find the score sheet either, leaving the game with a solid point but a missed chance with fourth place available.
Scoreless draw between Perth Glory and 10-man Brisbane Roar
Besart Berisha was sent off in the first half but Perth could only manage to prevent Brisbane from scoring.

Luke Brattan hit the post with a free kick late in the first half but otherwise, though there were chances created, two good goalkeepers managed the game well. The second half was mostly devoid of scoring opportunities after Henrique fired just over the bar two minutes into the half. Afterward, there were a handful of cards and substitutes without much else to speak of. Perth did finally welcome back William Gallas, though the Frenchman was replaced at halftime by Jack Clisby.
The Roar return to action next Friday when they host Wellington Phoenix at Suncorp Stadium. Perth will play at Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday January 26.
