Dylan Macallister is leaving Melbourne Heart and is headed to Asia the club announced on Friday via email press release. The 31-year-old forward scored the winner in the season-opening Melbourne Derby in 2012/13 but has only appeared in twenty-one matches over a year-and-a-half for the Heart. Most recently, Macallister was sent off at Perth Glory after picking up two yellow cards in eleven substitute minutes on January 10.
Dylan Macallister released by Melbourne Heart
Heart’s forward is headed to Hong Kong after a year-and-a-half in Melbourne.
Heart Football Operations General Manager John Diduca explained the move:
”Dylan has been an absolute professional around the club since he arrived last season. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to play regular football for the Club this season so a move makes sense for both the Club and the player.
“We wish Dylan and his young family all the best for the future.”
Macallister will be joining Eastern Salon of Hong Kong’s top flight next week, according to Heart’s release, though the club did not name his destination.
