Perth Glory have added a midfielder today in signing Nebojsa Marinkovic. The 27-year-old Serbian, who came up with Partizan, has been playing in Israel at three different clubs since 2010 and now joins the Glory with a contract that extends through the 2014/15 season. With Ryo Nagai released last week, the Glory had room on the roster and in visa positions to welcome Marinkovic from Hapoel Haifa.
Perth Glory add Nebojša Marinković to midfield
27-year-old Serbian signs on through 2014/15 from Hapoel Haifa.
Interim manager Kenny Lowe described Marinkovic in a club press release:
“Nebojsa is a very hard working and creative attacking midfielder. He has great character and wherever he has played he has been highly valued. He distributes the ball well, has great skill and also one of the best long range shots I’ve seen in some time, and is extremely dangerous from set pieces.”
Marinkovic will go straight into the squad, assuming his International Transfer Certificate arrives in time, and will be available for the Glory in the Australia Day game against Western Sydney Wanderers at Pirtek Stadium.
