Anton Volchenkov prevents goal with his butt

We’ve seen the butt goal, and now we have the butt save.

Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this the Phoenix Coyotes and Buffalo Sabres gave us the butt goal.

On Tuesday night, Anton Volchenkov of the New Jersey Devils gave us the butt save.

Following a scramble in front of the net, St. Louis Blues forward Derek Roy had what appeared to be an empty net to aim for when Cory Schneider was down and out. The only problem for Roy is Volchenkov's butt ended up getting in the way to keep the Blues off the board.

Volchenkov blocks a ton of shots, but that’s probably one of the first ones he’s recorded thanks to his butt.

That’s the kind of night it was for both teams as the Devils cruised to a 7-1 win.
