2014 Winter X Games: Results for Day 3: Max Parrot wins another gold

The 19-year old Canadian captured his second gold medal in as many days on Saturday.

One day after capturing his first gold medal with a win in the Men’s Snowboard Big Air, Max Parrot highlighted Saturday’s action at the 2014 Winter X Games in Aspen by earning another win in the Men’s Snowboard SlopeStyle.

Mark McMorris held the lead after two runs with a score of 95.66, but Parrot passed him with a final-run score of 96.33. McMorris crashed on his final run and settled for the silver, while Stale Sandbech captured the bronze.

Women’s Snowboard SlopeStyle

Just as she did in the 2013 Winter X Games in Tignes, France, Silje Norendal captured the gold medal in the Women’s Snowboard SlopeStyle final on Saturday. The 20-year-old Norwegian narrowly beat out Jamie Anderson of the United States, the same 1-2 finish as in France last March.

Anderson picked up her ninth X Games medal in the event, including wins in 2007, 2008, 2012 and in Aspen in 2013.

Snowmobile Long Jump
Levi LaVallee won gold in the Snowmobile Long Jump with a jump of 147 feet, five inches, and told ESPN, “Since I was a little kid, I’ve just wanted to go as big as possible, big in front of my family or friends or whatever it was.”

Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe
Kelly Clark won gold in the Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe, which was her fourth consecutive gold medal win in the category. Following the win, she complimented the silver medal winner, Chloe Kim.

GoPro Ski Big Air
Henrik Harlaut used his creativity to take home the gold medal in the GoPro Ski Big Air. This is his second gold medal for the Ski Big Air and his third career medal at the X Games, as he won a silver for the Men’s Ski SlopeStyle during Winter X Games Aspen in 2013.
