Chris Paul injury: Clippers star likely out 3-5 weeks

The Clippers star point guard suffered a sprained right shoulder Friday night and is likely out 3-5 weeks, according to Doc Rivers.

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul is likely out 3-5 weeks due to the sprained right shoulder injury he suffered Friday against the Dallas Mavericks, the team announced after the game.

Paul fell hard to the ground as he was dribbling off a screen from the top of the key and he immediately went back to the locker room.

The injury occurred midway through the third quarter. Paul was leading all scorers at the time with 19 points, all of which he scored in the first half. The star point guard knocked down 5 of 6 from behind the arc and knotted six assists before the injury.

Paul, arguably the best point guard in the league, is averaging 19.6 points, 11.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He’s also shooting a hair over 46 percent from the field and 33 percent from long range.

The Clippers went on to win the game, 119-112, in his absence.
