Already without Paul George for the season, the Indiana Pacers could face yet another devastating injury. Power forward David West, seen by teammates as the heart and soul of the club, had to be helped off the court after rolling his ankle underneath the basket in the team’s preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks. The Pacers say he has a sprained ankle and he will not return to the game.
David West badly sprains ankle in Pacers’ preseason game
The Pacers’ best remaining healthy player badly rolled his ankle in the team’s preseason game against the Mavericks and had to be helped off the court.

West’s right ankle rolled so thoroughly that it appeared his foot slipped out of his shoe. The injury kept West down for a long time, during which the entire Pacers bench came out to console him. He eventually got on his feet before limping to the locker room with the help of two teammates.
