After a rough start to the season -- 0-2 after two weeks -- the Kansas City Chiefs have gotten back on the right track, sitting at 4-3 now and back in contention for a playoff spot. After a rough start to the season themselves, the New York Jets have continued in the same direction, and now sit at 1-7, looking as bad as any team in the league. Sunday's match between the two games could be shaping up to be bad times for the New York team.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Jets vs. Chiefs
The Raiders haven’t won yet, but the Jets might actually be the NFL’s most miserable team.

The Chiefs have their two biggest fantasy names on the week's injury report, as both running back Jamaal Charles (back) and tight end Travis Kelce (ribs) are dealing with nagging ailments. Neither is at risk for missing Sunday. The Jets will have their full complement of players as well, as wide receiver Eric Decker (hamstring) and running back Chris Johnson (ankle) are expected to be fine for Sunday.
The Jets will travel to Kansas City for the 1 p.m. ET game Sunday. Time for a look at the fantasy names to consider:
JETS
Start 'em: He's put up at least 16 fantasy points in back-to-back games and at least nine in six of eight games this season. Chris Ivory is a fine RB2.
Start 'em?: The unquestionable best wide receiver for the Jets right now is Eric Decker. The opponent is scary, but he's still a very justifiable start. ... Nick Folk can kick for big games, as he has twice this season, or a total zero, as he did in Week 5. It's hit and miss.
Sit 'em: Honestly, I could see Michael Vick, in his first week as a starter, as a sleeper play this week. He runs the ball, which is how you need to approach the Chiefs, and if he can avoid the fumble, there's potential. Still, you can't really justify using him. ... Any fantasy value to Chris Johnson is just gone. He's not even ownable at this point. ... I'm staying away from Percy Harvin until he does more to prove himself with his new team. ... Jace Amaro has potential, but he's still outside starting territory at tight end. ... The Jet's defense has eight total fantasy points the last five weeks.
CHIEFS
Start 'em: There's no real worries about Jamaal Charles, even against a stout Jets run defense. He's a must-start. ... [DEFENSE AGAINST THE JETS] is a defense you want, and this week that's the Chiefs' defense.
Start 'em?: You have to like any quarterback facing the Jets, but Alex Smith is banged up and really hasn't been spectacular this year. You probably don't want to use him, but if it's really desperate it's justifiable. ... Travis Kelce sits in the middle tier of tight ends that could be started, but don't have to be. ... After a slow start to the season, Cairo Santos has put up really good numbers the last few weeks. He's on the verge of starting fantasy kicker.
Sit 'em: He scores touchdowns, but Knile Davis' overall production is far too unpredictable to run out there. ... Ordinarily a wide receiver against the Jets is a great fantasy option, but it's hard to count on Dwayne Bowe with his mediocre numbers.
