The Hornets forward left the team’s game against the Knicks after falling on his shoulder in the first quarter.


Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a rib contusion after falling hard on his right shoulder fighting for a rebound against Shane Larkin during the first quarter of his team’s game against the Knicks, the team announced.

— Stephanie Ready (@StephanieReady) November 3, 2014 Kidd-Gilchrist surprisingly stayed in the game after the fall and even took the ball hard to the basket several times before being removed for good before halftime.
This isn’t Kidd-Gilchrist’s first scary fall. He suffered a concussion during his rookie season after charging into teammate Jeff Taylor in a similar play.
