Pacquiao vs. Algieri weigh-in results: Algieri 0.2 over the limit, has two hours to make weight

Chris Algieri was slightly over the contracted weight limit for his bout with Manny Pacquiao and now has two hours to cut two tenths of a pound.

Chris Algieri was the first tonight in Macao to step onto the scales to make things official for his welterweight championship bout with Manny Pacquiao. The fight was contracted for a 144 pound catchweight, and Algieri was 0.4 pounds over on his first attempt to make weight.

Pacquiao was up next and hit 143.8 pounds, making good on the talk that he would come in under the contracted weight. That’s no surprise as his camp had said that he was already at, or under, the limit in recent days. He looked, as is his standard, to be in tremendous shape.

After Pacquiao weighed in, Algieri stripped naked and re-weighed, checking in at 144.2. So he has two hours to cut two tenths of a pound. That shouldn’t be an issue, but he’s an extremely lean guy so it might not be a complete cakewalk.

We’ll have updates on the situation tonight, as Algieri should make weight officially at some point in the next couple hours.
