Kentucky vs. Boston final score: Wildcats use 2nd-half surge to win, 89-65

The Wildcats found themselves in a battle with the Terriers Friday night, as UK held just a 46-44 lead at the 15:54 mark.

Coming off a convincing win over No. 5 Kansas on Tuesday night, it wasn’t hard to see the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats having a letdown game at home against Boston University. That was the case, as the Cats found themselves in a battle with the Terriers Friday night, as UK held just a 46-44 lead at the 15:54 mark.

Then the Cats woke up, going on a 20-8 run to take control of the game and escape with an 89-65 win.

Sophomore shooting guard Aaron Harrison led all scorers with 19 points, and junior center Willie Cauley-Stein led the way with 12 points and this one-handed slam with authority:

This certainly wasn’t the kind of performance you’d expect from a top-ranked team, but given the youth Kentucky always features, not to mention their unconventional platoon system that features two teams of five that sub in for each other, it’s understandable that the Cats are still trying to find their way.

That said, with a December slate of games the includes Texas, UCLA, North Carolina and Louisville, they need to find more consistency in a hurry if they want to come out of that month unscathed.
