Now that the Oakland Raiders have gotten a win, the Jacksonville Jaguars might no longer be one of the league's worst teams, and they might now have the position of worst all to themselves. They are tied for the fewest wins in the league, and have easily the NFL's worst point differential. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts sit atop the AFC South, but some recent struggles have taken shine off the team's season. They will try to use Sunday against the Jaguars as a step back to the good.
Jaguars vs. Colts start/sit advice: Andrew Luck, T.Y. Hilton, Denard Robinson
The Colts have struggled of late, so a theoretically easy opponent comes by at exactly the right time.
The Jaguars are the healthier of the two teams, with no significant fantasy-relevant injuries of note. The Colts, meanwhile, have all sorts of concerns. They have already lost running back Ahmad Bradshaw for the season, and will rely on Trent Richardson, who also appeared the week's injury report, though he is expected to be fine for Sunday. The team is also likely to be without tight end Dwayne Allen, after Allen suffered a sprained ankle in Week 11.
The Colts host Sunday’s game at 1 p.m. ET. Even with all the injuries, the Colts have most of the fantasy intrigue in the game, but let’s look at it:
JAGUARS
Start 'em: The Colts struggle mightily against running backs -- Jonas Gray anyone? -- and Denard Robinson has been great since taking over the Jacksonville job. He's a must-start.
Start 'em?: With Allen Robinson done for the year, Cecil Shorts III promises to be Jacksonville's top receiver. Still, it's Jacksonville, so he's a low-end flex.
Sit 'em: The best fantasy day this season by Blake Bortles -- 18 fantasy points in Week 6 -- was bookended by his two worst days, and he's been subpar across the rest of the season. You can't use him. ... Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee are uninspired options at this point. ... The Jaguars get Marcedes Lewis back from injury Sunday, but he's not a fantasy option right now. ... Josh Scobee might be a better kicker than he looks in fantasy, but kicking for Jacksonville we'll never know. ... The Jaguars' defense looked good for a brief stretch, but that's fallen apart of late.
COLTS
Start 'em: Still no games of fewer than 18 fantasy points this season for Andrew Luck. He's with Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers atop the quarterback rankings. ... Trent Richardson hasn't had a great season -- or even a particularly good one -- but with Ahmad Bradshaw done and a prime opponent in Jacksonville, he ought to be a reasonable RB2. ... T.Y. Hilton struggled going against Darrelle Revis a week ago, but he doesn't have that concern anymore. He's still near the top of the receiver rankings. ... With Dwayne Allen out or at least very limited, Coby Fleener looks like a definite No. 1 tight end. ... Adam Vinatieri has had a phenomenal season. I'm running out of ways to say that. ... No defense facing Jacksonville has put up fewer than seven fantasy points all season. The Colts' defense should be a strong play.
Start 'em?: We've seen a couple good games in a row from Reggie Wayne, though he struggled before that. He's a strong enough flex play, but not much more.
Sit 'em: Considering the uncertainty of Richardson, Dan Herron makes for a good roster stash going forward, but for now that's all he is, not a fantasy option.
