Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Giants vs. Jaguars

You know things are bad for your team when you are looking longingly at the Giants’ 2014 season.

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants are 3-8, on a six-game losing streak, and tied for last in the NFC East. And the Jacksonville Jaguars probably desperately wish they could be those Giants, as they sit at 1-10, on a four-game losing streak of their own, and are firmly in last in the AFC South, with easily the NFL's worst point differential. Sunday, it's a game of bad against worse.

Giants' wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appears on the week's injury report with the back injury he suffered late in the Week 12 game, but he'll be good to go for Sunday. The Jaguars are largely healthy, from a fantasy perspective -- their primary concern was wide receiver Cecil Shorts III, with the flu, and he's expected to be fine.

The Jaguars host Sunday’s game at 1 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at who you might be using in fantasy:

GIANTS

Start 'em: Coming off a strong Week 12, and facing a generous Jacksonville team, Eli Manning is actually a QB1 this week. ... Rashad Jennings has shown he's healthy, and is firmly back in RB2 territory. ... Odell Beckham Jr. has been ridiculous since earning the starting job. He's an every-week starter. ... Even with some recent underwhelming games, Larry Donnell remains in the TE1 class. ... The Giants' defense is a bad unit, but Jacksonville hasn't held a single opposing defense to fewer than seven fantasy points all year. That's a must-start.

Start 'em?: If you're particularly desperate, Rueben Randle is still getting a lot of targets, though he's not hauling in nearly as many as you might like. ... Josh Brown hasn't been any great shakes kicking the ball, but this seems like a game where New York will have plenty of scoring chances.

Sit 'em: The return of Jennings has rendered Andre Williams a boom-or-bust touchdown-dependent option, and that's never someone you want to rely on.

JAGUARS

Start 'em: Against the porous Giants' run defense, Denard Robinson looks likely to get back on the right track this week after a down Week 12.

Start ‘em?: The Jaguars’ defense isn’t good by any means, but it’s been passable of late, and it’s not like the Giants have some super-elite offense.

Sit 'em: It's been an awful rookie season for Blake Bortles. Whether that's his fault or the team's, it's hard to tell, but you can't consider using him. ... Toby Gerhart has been getting more use again; if Robinson does struggle, Gerhart could get the job back, but all he is is a guy to keep an eye on right now. ... Considering the varied usage of Cecil Shorts III, Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee, it's hard to use any one of them. If you could start "Jacksonville receiver that does well," you'd be in good shape, but how can you know who that will be week-to-week? ... Marcedes Lewis didn't do anything in his first game back from injury. ... Josh Scobee continues to be that mythical kicker who could be good, but he's on such a bad team there's no way for us to know.

SUMMARY

Start in every league: Eli Manning, Rashad Jennings, Odell Beckham Jr., Larry Donnell, New York defense, Denard Robinson

Start if you’re desperate: Rueben Randle, Josh Brown, Jacksonville defense

Bench: Andre Williams, Blake Bortles, Toby Gerhart, Cecil Shorts III, Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee, Marcedes Lewis, Josh Scobee
