Iman Shumpert out at least 3 weeks with dislocated shoulder
Iman Shumpert went down against the Celtics on Friday, suffering a dislocated shoulder. Now the 5-20 Knicks will likely be without his services until 2015.
ORIGNAL: Iman Shumpert suffered a dislocated shoulder, and will not return to Friday night's game between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics, the Knicks announced. Shumpert went down to the floor hard in the second quarter, and was in apparent pain on the floor.
Shumpert has had to play through several dings this season. He was questionable entering Friday's game after injuring his finger during Wednesday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs. He missed one game in November after suffering a hip contusion against the Utah Jazz.
Though Shumpert has struggled to stay on the court, he is still the fourth-leading scorer for the 4-20 Knicks this season. With 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, he is also one of the team’s most versatile and indispensable players. It would be a big blow to New York if Shumpert were to miss extended playing time due to his latest ailment.
