With so many teams still alive for the playoffs, most games this year, even in Week 15, still have a lot of intrigue. And then there are games like the matchup between Washington and the New York Giants. Sunday's game between the two doesn't mean much for the framework of the 2015 season. On the other hand, there is some fantasy interest, and there's certainly the ever-present story of the Washington quarterback situation.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 15: Washington vs. Giants
Well, these two teams aren’t going anywhere.
Washington is expected to be without running back Roy Helu Jr. Sunday. On the other hand, wide receiver DeSean Jackson is tentatively expected to return after missing Week 14, and quarterback Colt McCoy is looking like he'll play as well. The Giants are much healthier, with only quarterback Eli Manning on the injury report, and that's just a maintenance thing. Running back Rashad Jennings isn't listed on the week's injury report, as he works his way back from his ankle issues.
The Giants will host Sunday’s game at 1 p.m. ET. Let’s look at the fantasy considerations:
WASHINGTON
Start 'em?: Recent struggles have taken Alfred Morris from must-start status to less. He's still usable, as a flex play at least, but it's no longer a sure thing. ... Assuming he's back, you'd guess DeSean Jackson would get right back into his role as the team's top receiver and reasonable fantasy option, though Pierre Garcon's strong performance in Jackson's absence makes it more of a question mark. Both are defensible plays; neither is exciting. ... Jordan Reed has 12 fantasy points in Week 13, then followed it up with two last week. How can you trust him?
Sit 'em: It really doesn't matter who starts at quarterback for Washington; you can't use any of the group. Right now, it looks like Colt McCoy will be cleared to play, and if so, he'll start, but even if it's Robert Griffin III or Kirk Cousins, the whole thing is a stay-away. ... Twice in his last four games, Kai Forbath has had zero or fewer fantasy points. That's scary. ... The Washington defense is not doing anything special.
GIANTS
Start ‘em: You’ve seen what other wide receivers have done to Washington’s pass defense lately? And you’ve seen how great Odell Beckham Jr. has been since coming onto the scene? Yeah, this could be fun.
Start 'em?: You love any quarterback throwing against Washington, but Eli Manning has had four awful games in his last five. Dicey play with upside. ... Between the question marks about Rashad Jennings' health and the actually decent Washington run defense, but Jennings and Andre Williams make for question marks. ... With four games of two or three fantasy points in his last five games, Larry Donnell is getting increasingly difficult to use in fantasy.
Sit 'em: As a fantasy option, Preston Parker might have surpassed Rueben Randle, but neither makes for much ultimately. ... Josh Brown had a huge game in Week 14, but that's after a long underwhelming stretch. Don't buy in. ... The Brown story also applies to the Giants' defense; sure,t hey were good in Week 14, but they were nothing before that.
