Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook may not be the favorite for this season's NBA MVP quite yet, but with each passing performance that leaves us picking our jaws off the floor, it's getting harder to keep his name out of the discussion.

Westbrook’s emergence in the MVP conversation continued Tuesday night with a monster performance in Sacramento.


Westbrook delivered his latest gem Tuesday night in a 104-92 victory over the Sacramento Kings -- OKC's seventh straight -- by putting up 32 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in just 32 minutes of action. It was a whirlwind performance that reminded us of everything that makes Westbrook arguably the most unique player in the game.
Sacramento simply didn't have any answers for Russ, switching between Ben McLemore, Darren Collison and Ramon Sessions with little effect. The Kings don't have any particularly strong defenders on the perimeter, and even then, I'm not sure anyone could really stop Westbrook.
You just have to hope that he doesn’t shatter the backboard.
Westbrook started early, too, getting a steal and dunk on the opening possession of the game. This was the kind of night it was going to be for Sacramento’s backcourt:
