A pair of last-place teams in different situations face off Sunday. The St. Louis Rams are in last in the NFC West, though they are 5-7 and have looked strong of late, especially coming off a 52-0 Week 13 win. Washington, meanwhile, has spent all season in last in the NFC East and has never really been a factor this season. Sunday, they play each other.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 14: Rams vs. Washington
They’re both in last, but St. Louis looks much better than Washington right now.
From a fantasy perspective, the Rams come into Sunday's game basically healthy, with no relevant names on the injury report. For Washington, wide receiver DeSean Jackson is dealing with a leg injury. He's questionable at best going into Sunday, and fantasy owners should be ready to look elsewhere.
The Rams will travel to Washington for the game Sunday, scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at the fantasy considerations:
RAMS
Start 'em: For all its faults on pass defense, Washington isn't actually terrible against the run. Still, Tre Mason has been great of late. He's an RB2. ... The Rams' defense had a huge game in Week 13, and has a nice matchup again this week. That's a starter.
Start 'em?: Even as the team put up 52 points a week ago, Shaun Hill managed only 21 fantasy points -- good, but not reflective of the dominant game. Washington is a great opponent for a quarterback to face, so Hill could have a good game again, though he's a bottom-end QB2 at best. ... Greg Zuerlein has had low moments this season, but has been decent of late, and there's reason to expect the Rams to get in scoring territory often Sunday.
Sit 'em: The Rams have cycled through several "best" receivers this year. Right now, it's Stedman Bailey over Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and tight end Jared Cook, but there isn't one there that looks like a good, safe fantasy option.
WASHINGTON
Start 'em: You're still using Alfred Morris. It's an unexciting, unsexy play, but he's safe. ... Now that he's healthy, Jordan Reed is coming off of a huge game, and makes for a good TE1.
Start 'em?: Assuming he plays, it would be terrifying to use DeSean Jackson, but he definitely has upside. ... Kai Forbath has been safe for a handful of points almost every week this season.
Sit 'em: Sure, he was fairly productive in Week 13, but come on, it's Colt McCoy. You can't use him in fantasy if you have any sort of choice. ... Jackson or no Jackson, Andre Roberts and Pierre Garcon don't have enough of a ceiling to run out there. ... No, not the Washington defense. Just no.
SUMMARY
Start in every league: Tre Mason, St. Louis defense, Alfred Morris, Jordan Reed
Bench: Stedman Bailey, Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Colt McCoy, Andre Roberts, Pierre Garcon, Washington defense
