One of the two longest losing streaks in the NFL will come to and end Sunday, as the New York Giants, losers of seven straight, face the Tennessee Titans, who have fell in the last six games. The Giants are 3-9, while the Titans stand at 2-10.
Giants vs. Titans start/sit advice: Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., Delanie Walker
Something’s gotta give as the teams with the NFL’s two longest losing streaks face off Sunday.
The Giants might be without running back Rashad Jennings Sunday, as he aggravated an ankle injury in Week 13 and hasn't practiced. For the Titans, quarterback Zach Mettenberger has been practicing through the week after being forced out of Sunday's game with a shoulder injury; he'll play Sunday.
The Titans will host the Giants Sunday. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, and here’s a look at the fantasy names to think about:
GIANTS
Start ‘em: You’re definitely using Odell Beckham Jr., who hasn’t had fewer than nine fantasy points in a game since his second career outing.
Start 'em?: If Rashad Jennings manages to play Sunday, he looks like a really tasty option, though his status is not looking great. Andre Williams, who would start if Jennings sits, has been much less exciting, and would look like a flex play. ... Larry Donnell has had three or fewer fantasy points three times in his last four. The only thing keeping him as a reasonable fantasy option is the fact that the tight end position is so miserable.
Sit 'em: In his last four games, Eli Manning has gone for more than 11 fantasy points only once; he's averaging only 12 points a game in that time. ... Rueben Randle has been a huge disappointment this season, and it's hard to imagine running him out there with any kind of confidence. ... Josh Brown has averaged only 4.1 fantasy points a game in his last seven. He's not an option. ... The one decent game the Giants' defense has had since Week 4 was Sunday against the Jaguars. That doesn't portend long-term success.
TITANS
Start 'em: With zero points in Week 13 after 15 in Week 12, Delanie Walker doesn't offer consistency, but in general he's involved enough in the team's offense that he's a must-start tight end.
Start 'em?: With Justin Hunter lost for the year, there's reason to think Kendall Wright could see a jump in usage in Week 14; he's an interesting flex play. ... This game is the first in a stretch of really nice matchups for the Titans' defense. If you have them, go ahead and use them this week in anticipation of some nice games in Weeks 15 and 16.
Sit 'em: There is at least some upside for Zach Mettenberger, who has the penchant for the deep ball, but he doesn't have enough upside to be a fantasy option. ... There is no reason to put Bishop Sankey in any fantasy lineup; outside of dynasty leagues, there's no reason for him to even be rostered. ... Nate Washington might see a bump in targets with Hunter's options, but he needs to prove it before anyone can consider him in fantasy. ... It's been a long stretch of underwhelming performance out of Ryan Succop. Look elsewhere.
