2014 Winter Olympics curling schedule: Round robin sessions continue on Wednesday
Curling action picks up again on Wednesday with a combined 11 matches in the round robin. Here’s the complete schedule.
Curling continues Wednesday with another spate of round robin matches. The men’s teams start their fourth session at midnight (ET) when Denmark faces the United States. The Americans have had a rough go of things this year, and are still looking for their first win after a 9-4 loss to China on Tuesday. Denmark got into the win column with a hard-fought 11-10 victory over Russia.
Norway’s pants get a lot of attention, but they’re pretty good at curling too, beating the Russians 9-8 to move to 2-0. They will take on Germany after Team USA gets off the ice.
At 5 a.m., the women’s side starts its round of qualification matches. The American women haven’t fared any better than their male counterparts. They were drubbed by Great Britain, 12-3, in their first match. The Brits set an Olympic record with seven points in the fourth end, and now get to face medal favorites Canada. Sweden, the 2010 gold medalists, will face South Korea.
After those matches, the men play another round to close out the day. China, Switzerland, Germany and Denmark all play a second match starting at 10 a.m. ET. Sweden will take on the Danes in hopes of staying undefeated in these games.
