Winter Olympics 2014 ski slopestyle results: Team USA and Canada dominate podium

Adding slopestyle to the Winter Olympics has proved fruitful for Team USA with Devin Logan capturing the country’s third medal in Sochi with a silver in the skiing Ladies’ Slopestyle Final.

Logan had a disappointing second run, but her initial score of 85.40 was good enough to hold onto silver -- even if that became a stressful affair for the 20-year-old. She was forced to endure the long wait while four talented skiers had a chance to knock her off the podium, but that never came to pass.

Canada served as bookends, taking home gold and bronze with Dara Howell setting an unmatched score of 94.20 in her first run. Countrywoman Kim Lamarre had the weight of the games on her shoulders following a crash in her first run to finally put together an 85.00 in the second, less than half a point out of silver.

Medal favorite Kaya Turski wasn’t in the conversation. The four-time X Games gold medalist crashed twice in qualifying to miss the finals, a disappointing end to a games she was rushing to recover for after tearing her ACL in 2013.
