UPDATE: The Associated Press is now reporting that the worker has suffered two broken legs.

A bobsled track worker was struck by a bobsled early Thursday morning during a trial run and has been hospitalized with a broken leg and possible concussion, according to the Associated Press.

The worker was in the breaking area when he was hit by a forerunning sled, which is a sled used to test the safety of the track. Anyone in the area is normally warned when one of these sleds is on the track, so it’s unclear what the worker was doing there.

There worker was immediately taken to the hospital, but the bobsled training session was delayed by more than 30 minutes. No immediate update was available on his condition but officials later revealed that he suffered a broken leg and maybe a concussion.

The incident occurred before the two-man bobsledding competition on Thursday morning. The worker appears to have avoided serious injury in a scary accident that could have been much worse.
