Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 hockey schedule: Women’s semifinals underway
Canada and the United States can advance to the women’s gold medal game with wins on Monday.

It’s the home stretch for the women’s Olympic hockey tournament. The United States and Canada seem to be on yet another collision course, but first they both must take care of business against two pesky European teams. Can Sweden or Switzerland pull off the upsets of the tournament on Monday?
United States vs. Sweden
After falling to rival Canada in the final Group A game, the United States will try to regroup in the semifinals against Sweden on Saturday. Hilary Knight, Amanda Kessel and Alex Carpenter will try and spark the U.S. offense early against Sweden, who is coming off a 4-2 win over goaltender Noora Raty and team Finland in the quarterfinals.
Canada vs. Switzerland
The Canadians enter this semifinal matchup with massive confidence. They beat the United States a few days ago and took down Switzerland in a 5-0 win on the first day of the tournament. A win on Monday will mean the Canadians are one step away from continuing their gold-medal streak.
