The Jamaican bobsled team didn’t do so well in Sochi
America’s favorite thing about bobsled is the Jamaican bobsled team, but they didn’t exactly have a great showing.

The Jamaican bobsled team are arguably the two most popular people in Sochi. As we wrote in our big ol’ luge/bobsled/skeleton preview, there’s every reason to love them.
It seems so far that not many Olympians use tinder.... Just wanna match with the Jamaican bobsled team
— Rebecca Possum Torr (@PossumTorr) February 2, 2014 They lost their baggage on the way to Sochi! How can you not root for them!
They had a dance-off with Lolo Jones!
THEY HAVE A SONG!
Everybody loves the Jamaican bobsled team! So, today was the finals in two-man bobsled -- how’d Marvin Dixon and Winston Watts do? They had a lucky egg, so, well, right?

— Jamaica Bobsled Team (@Jambobsled) February 17, 2014 Well, they didn’t medal:
Okay, but maybe they were close --
Well, okay, maybe they were close after that --
Wait, that’s the end of the list. What happened?
You see, the Jamaicans finished 29th out of 30, and only the top 20 made the final run. In fact, the only team worse than Jamaica was Serbia, who had better runs than the Jamaicans their first two tries, but didn’t finish the final run.
But that’s not a reason to naysay the Jamaicans. The Winter Olympics are a parade of various European dudes being hyper-serious about sports we’ve never seen before. And the Jamaican bobsled team is a rare spotlight on something fun, a feel-good story.
So, Jamaicans, this time didn’t work out. But we’ll hopefully see you in four years in South Korea.
