The A-League's worst-kept secret was finally confirmed on Tuesday as Juventus was unveiled as the opponent for the A-League's second All-Star game. Both Alessandro Del Piero and Edgar Davids spoke at the press conference that revealed August 10 in Sydney as the time and place for the follow-up to the A-League's very successful All-Star game debut, which came in July 2013 against Manchester United.
Juventus unveiled as opponent for A-League All-Stars
Alessandro Del Piero was the lynchpin in attracting Juventus to Sydney in August.

As was the case last year, A-League fans will be able to select players via online voting. Unlike last year, however, Del Piero has already confirmed he will play in the game and players are now contractually bound to appear if selected. That provision was included in standard player contracts after last year’s fiasco and decided lack of star power involved, from the A-League’s side. Additionally, the game will be broadcast on free-to-air television by the Seven Network.
The match will take place a full month after the World Cup final, meaning most of Juventus' top players should be available to play. Serie A's 2014/15 campaign will not begin for two weeks following, so A-League fans should expect to see a top Juventus side as well as a much stronger line-up than featured in the 2013 version of the A-League's All-Stars.
