Olympic curling 2014 schedule: Canada and Sweden square off for gold--again

We’ve got a Vancouver 2010 gold medal rematch — but first, the British and Swiss have it out for bronze.

This is it in women’s curling: the gold and bronze medal games are upon us.

It’s Sweden and Canada going for the gold medal — again! It’s Great Britain and Switzerland battling for the bronze! It’s the best curling in the world that you’ll ever see (at least for another four years).

Sweden and Canada were also in the championship match in Vancouver four years ago. The Swedes took that title in dramatic fashion, taking two points in the 10th end to force a tie then scoring one in the extra 11th end for the comeback victory. And there’s no revenge like Canadian revenge! [citation needed]

Of course, there’s a prelude: the bronze medal game. Here, Switzerland looks to get back to the medal round after being shocked in 2010 by China for the bronze, 12-8; the Swiss had been silver medalists in the two prior Olympics, and while the gold is still not in reach, having something nice and shiny to hang around the curlers’ necks once again would be nice. Great Britain is waiting for the Swiss; the British haven’t medaled since winning the gold in 2002.

Your event schedule, via Sochi2014.com, is below.

3:30 a.m.: Great Britain vs. Switzerland (Bronze Medal)

8:30 a.m.: Canada vs. Sweden (Gold Medal)
