Winter Olympic snowboarding 2014 schedule: Parallel slalom the big event on Saturday
Snowboarding wraps up on Saturday with the debut of the parallel slalom event. Here’s your complete schedule for the day.


The final snowboarding event of the 2014 Winter Olympics takes place on Saturday with the parallel slalom. This is the first time that parallel slalom is part of the Olympics.
The women start their qualification round at 12:15 a.m. ET, while the men begin at 12:42 a.m. There are 32 athletes competing for a spot for the quarterfinal rounds. Team USA, as usual, has dominated in snowboarding this year, winning a combined five medals. They’re not expected to be a factor in parallel slalom, though. Justin Reiter is the only American man competing, while no U.S. women managed to qualify for this event.
