Sochi Olympic figure skating results: United States finishes first in short dance ice dance

A United States win and Germans dressing up like Paris Hilton and the nerdy professor. What a morning in figure skating.

SB Nation 2014 Olympics Preview

Three team figure skating events are in the books, and the United States is shooting back toward the top of the standings.

After Meryl Davis and Charlie White had the top score during the team ice dance short dance event, they secured 10 points in the standings for the United States, putting the team in third place overall.

Russia still leads in team figure skating thanks to a third place finish from Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev. Canada rounded out the top three in the short dance with a second place finish. The Canadians are also in second place overall.

The stars of the morning figure skating session were the Germans, however. Look at this interpretation of Paris Hilton and the nerdy processor by Nelli Zhiganshina and Alexander Gazsi.
