2014 Olympic snowboarding schedule: Jamie Anderson, Anna Gasser frontrunners for women’s slopestyle gold
The women’s slopestyle will take center stage in the snowboarding world Sunday in Sochi.

On Saturday, the United States secured its first gold medal in the men’s slopestyle snowboarding. Sage Kotsenburg dominated the field and won the event.
The women’s slopestyle event will take place on Sunday, and the Americans are favored to win in that as well. Jamie Anderson will be the star for the United States after her impressive run in the qualifying round. She’s not going to coast to the podium, however. Austria’s Anna Gasser, who was the only other rider to break 90 in the qualifying round, should provide quite the challenge to the United States’ snowboarding throne.
Ty Walker is also worth keeping an eye on for the United States’ team. She’s only 16 and is dealing with some injuries that limited her during the qualifying round. She could be the future of women’s snowboarding for the United States.
Here’s the schedule of events for Sunday. By the end of the day, there will be three new medalists.
